We offer Autism Training, Family Support and ABA Therapy to help the community and meet your family's unique needs.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is widely supported by research and professionals as a method for treating autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Parent training sequences combine the principles of ABA with the elaborate training and experience held by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Owner and Licensed Behavior Analyst, Cynthia Reed, has experience serving children and families in clinic, home, community, and school settings. The Training Sequences have been created based on research, experience, and many variations of applying ABA principles and concepts to individualized and specific client needs.
During Applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy, clients are taught to engage, interact, and play with their peers by exposing them to different types of peer play and parallel play and encouraging these facilitated interactions. Children with autism face distinct challenges in social and imaginary play. Without support, they are likely to remain isolated from their peers and the consistent interactive play that encourages developmental growth. This is why it is important to make sure that all of our clients are provided with the proper support to grow and thrive in a variety of social environments and activities.
During Applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy, clients are taught how to explore all types of toys and objects, while also being encouraged to play with them according to their intended function. Functional play means the play serves a purpose. Functional play and play in general aren’t just about having fun, they're about learning and developing essential skills they’ll use far into the future. Functional play can help improve their focus, social skills, communication skills, and academic skills. This is why kids with ASD benefit from play-based ABA therapy.
Detailed discussions about ASD learning barriers, how to overcome these barriers using ABA principles, and how to facilitate learning for your child from your home based on their specific learning needs.
Detailed discussions about how to identify maladaptive or dangerous behaviors, how to identify why they are occurring, and how to create a plan to reduce these behaviors by replacing them with adaptive, safe, and socially acceptable alternative behaviors.
Entire Training Sequence devoted to toilet training and all components therein. We will go over how to identify if your child is ready for toilet training, how to get them ready (if applicable), how to create a plan that will work, and how to follow through with that plan while making adjustments as needed.
